I recently stayed at Atlantis in the Bahamas, and while there got a tour of the facilities and what they offer for brides looking for a beautiful destination wedding location . There are a number of different sites around the large premises on Paradis Island and they accommodate everything from the small very intimate location for under 10 people to larger locations for over 200 people. Packages are available that include everything needed for a wedding on the island, including getting your marriage license and the official to perform the ceremony.
Across the bridge from Paradise Island and a short taxi drive is Cable Beach. Cable beach is home to a Sandals Resort where you can again have your destination wedding on site and then also stay for your honeymoon. Sandals Resorts are for adults only so if children are part of the ceremony some accommodations can be made, but only for the ceremony, no children permitted as room guests.
While planning a destination wedding is exciting it does create a lot of stress because there is long distance communication, unknown service, traditions, local laws all to be taken into consideration. So while some brides do still plan their own destination wedding, don’t discount the value of hiring a wedding planner to help because a good planner is educated to know the right questions to ask to make sure there are no disappointments in store when you arrive for your dream wedding in paradise.
