Three Tips for keeping your perspective while planning a Successful Wedding

Wedding  Planner – Michele Rogers – President of Accolade of London, Inc. as Full Service Event Planning company in Indianapolis, In.,  helping brides, businesses, Not for Profit Groups and individuals plan and coordinate special events.  Here are some tips for the brides out there to help keep things in perspective during what can be a stressful time.

1)      The internet has presented an opportunity to have information at your fingers tips 24 hours 7 days a week.  While the chance to research and develop ideas and resources is tremendous, the down side is that it can present information overload.  When this occurs simply stop and regroup and go back to basics – meaning –  a wedding is when a bride and groom make a life long commitment to each other in front of their family and friends. Remember what is important and include as much as possible about whom you are and what the wedding celebration means to you, those reflections will be enjoyed by all your guests, knowing they are sharing in something that is very special to you.

2)      The biggest concern for most couples is the amount of money you will spend on the wedding.  Statistics now back up that the number of guests being invited to a wedding has gotten smaller.  The biggest allotment of money in a budget normally goes to the food and drink which would not be out of balance if the percentage was in the range of 50%. By cutting back the number of guests, couples can see their way to actually being able to add some of the “luxury items” that would be cut if the numbers where higher. The fact is that for a number of people particularly young friends of the couple it can be a financial burden to go to a wedding.

3)      Take the time to stop and smell the roses throughout the planning process.  Seems so simple, but it’s easy to get caught up in all the emotions, deadlines, stress, work etc.  When it’s all said and done you will spend more time planning and preparing for the wedding than you will do attending.  So when one reflects on the wedding the time taken planning and preparing should be remembered as enjoyable, because you will remember more of those times than the real wedding day itself.
